A Day In The Life

Minds Matter students make a commitment to attend regular weekly sessions where they work hard toward achieving their dream of attending college.

In a typical day, a Minds Matter student will spend the first portion of session working in a group setting on either Writing & Critical Thinking (sophomores) or Test Prep for the SAT and/or ACT (juniors and seniors). The students spend the remaining 1-2 hours of session with their mentors and the rest of their team. A day’s activities may include: researching academic summer programs or colleges, working on personal statements and applications to these programs, or engaging in workshops and panels that focus on particular areas of the application process.

Through these sessions, Minds Matter students gain invaluable access to academic and social enrichment, all while strengthening their college applications.
