Minds Matter Philadelphia: Ashley McGrath as Inaugural Executive Director
Ashley McGrath is the new Executive Director at Minds Matter Philadelphia!
Ashley McGrath is an education and operations leader with over 15 years of experience driving impact within the K-12 and NonProfit Sectors. As Deputy Director at Education Plus Health, Ashley led and supported the creation and execution of systems and strong school based partnerships aimed at enhancing the delivery and effectiveness of School Based Health Centers within Philadelphia Charter and District schools.
Previously, Ashley served as the Chief Operating Officer at Deep Roots Charter School. As Deep Roots’ Founding Operations leader Ashley oversaw the creation and execution of all School and LEA level operational infrastructure including budget management, staffing, compliance, governance, school partnership and COVID-19 response processes and protocols. Ashley also held leadership roles with Camden City School District, where she focused on supporting the execution of district-wide strategic initiatives, operational readiness, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ashley is a First Generation college student and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, and Masters degrees from The University of Pennsylvania and The Broad Center for the Management of School Systems (now affiliated with the Yale School of Management). Ashley started her career as a middle school science and math teacher in Southwest Philadelphia through Teach For America.
