Minds Matter Bay Area: Whitney Flores as New Executive Director

Whitney Flores is the new Executive Director at Minds Matter Bay Area!

Whitney served as the Site Director for Year Up Bay Area’s Diablo Valley College campus, where she leads a dedicated team of 18 staff members in supporting 160 talented young adults each year. In this role, she ensured the seamless execution of programs, fosters a supportive team environment, and champions student success as they prepare to launch their careers.

Her campus is part of a broader Bay Area network and a national community of 35 Year Up sites, and Whitney takes pride in contributing to a movement that transforms lives across the country. With a career rooted in mission-driven work, she brings experience as a Crisis Counselor, College and Career Counselor, Program Manager, and Executive Director—each role deepening her passion for leadership and impact.

Whitney holds a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s in Leadership from Saint Mary’s College of California. Outside of work, she enjoys baking sourdough, tending to her backyard fruit trees, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
