Senior Program
In their final year, students enrolled in the Minds Matter Senior Program receive SAT Test preparation and continue to develop their Writing & Critical Thinking skills.
Seniors receive a SAT test preparation refresher course, complete with personal coaching from math and verbal Test Prep Leaders, refreshers on basic skills, and diagnostic exams to reinforce test strategies. At the completion of the program, students take their final SAT exam.
The Writing & Critical Thinking Program for seniors takes a targeted, tactical approach, zeroing in on personal statements for college applications. Instruction focuses on content generation, outlining, and structuring to ensure the essays are thoughtful and engaging. Students work closely with their mentors to edit and revise, and are expected to go through several drafts, with outside writing advisors coming in for two sessions to offer additional, objective feedback on students' work.
