  Lisa Souter, President
Lisa joined Minds Matter in 1998 as a Mentor/Team Leader in New York. She now serves as the President and Chairman of the Chicago chapter, as well as sits on the National Board of Directors. Her strong belief in the mission of Minds Matter prompted her to co-found both the Boston and Chicago chapters. Lisa received her BS/BA from Georgetown University and her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Michael Recht, Co-Director of Mentees, Sophomore/Junior Program
Michael is the Co-Founder and Director of Mentees for Minds Matter of Chicago. Michael's responsibilities include student recruiting, curriculum development and managing relationships with college summer programs. Prior to joining Minds Matter, Michael was involved in tutoring roles for the last ten years. Michael is currently an MBA student at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
Sarah Riddile, Co-Director of Mentors
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Richmond, with a degree in Economics. She relocated to Chicago from the Washington DC area in early 2005 to take over the Recruiting Department for SCORE! Educational Centers a division of Kaplan and the Washington Post Company. Sarah got involved in Minds Matter in order to make a difference in an underserved community that could do so much with just a little help.
Rob Arditi, Co-Director of Fundraising
Rob, Board of Directors & Director of Fundraising, works for Lake Capital, a $1.3B private equity firm focused on investing and operationally improving companies in the service industry. Previously, he worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in investment banking and at Raymond James. Rob graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree and also earned a Masters of Science in Finance degree from UF as well.
Ari Kessler, Co-Director of Mentees, Sophomore/Junior Program
After graduating from Williams College in 2004, Ari spent two years with the Peace Corps in Zambia working to help found schools and train teachers. He moved to Chicago in October 2007 and now works as a media research analyst at Starcom Worldwide. Ari joined Minds Matters last year as a mentor and he is currently Co-Director of Mentees partly responsible for curriculum, recruiting mentees, and monitoring summer programs.
  Tom Siebert, Co-Director of Mentors
Tom is a Senior Financial Analyst in the Business Development Group at Sears Holdings Corporation. Before working at Sears, Tom worked in the Economic and Valuation Services Practice at KPMG LLP. He graduated from Washington University.
Jed Shein, Co-Director of PR/Marketing
Jed is a senior account executive at Res Publica Group, a Chicago-based public-relations and public affairs firm, where he has served corporate and non-profit clients in media relations and advocacy. An avid traveler, Jed has visited six continents and participated in various community outreach efforts along the way. A native of Phoenix, AZ, Jed comes to Chicago by way of the University of Michigan.
Kelsey Peterson, Director of Finance
Kelsey holds a B.A. from Williams College and is currently pursuing her MBA at The Kellogg School of Management. She has extensive finance experience in equity research and corporate M&A and has completed the Chartered Financial Analyst Program.
  Franklin Winokur, Co-Director of Senior Program
Franklin joined GTCR, a Chicago-based private equity firm, in 2007. Prior to joining GTCR, he worked as an analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group at Credit Suisse in New York. Franklin graduated from Duke University, magna cum laude, earning a BA in Computer Science and a BA in French.
Melissa Kennedy, Co-Director of Fundraising
Melissa, Co-Director of Fundraising and also a mentor, is an associate in the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Products group at GTCR Golder Rauner, a $9 billion private equity firm in Chicago. Prior to GTCR, Melissa worked in healthcare investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco. Melissa received her BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jessica Paar, Co-Director of PR/Marketing
Jessica is a Senior Associate with APCO Worldwide, a global communications and public affairs agency. She manages internal and external communications programs for several Fortune 500 companies. Prior to moving to Chicago in 2007, Jessica worked in APCO's corporate headquarters in Washington, DC and as a Strategy Architect at EchoDitto, Inc, an online firm that specializes in the use of emerging technologies. While at EchoDitto, she assisted clients in the development of effective online advocacy and community building campaigns spanning such industries and interests as not-for-profit, environmental, health care, and government. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Williams College.
Calvin Hui, Co-Director of Senior Program
Calvin Hui graduated from Duke University in 2004 with degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Economics. Since then he has been working in Chicago at DRW Holdings, a proprietary trading firm. During his time there he has worked his way up to become the Head of Ten-Year Treasury Trading, and recently joined the Agricultural Trading group as a Senior Trader.
