Chicago - Board of Directors

  Lisa Souter, President
Lisa joined Minds Matter in 1998 as a Mentor/Team Leader in New York. She now serves as the President and Chairman of the Chicago chapter, as well as sits on the National Board of Directors. Her strong belief in the mission of Minds Matter prompted her to co-found both the Boston and Chicago chapters. Lisa received her BS/BA from Georgetown University and her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Michael Recht, Co-Director of Mentees, Sophomore/Junior Program
Michael is the Co-Founder and Director of Mentees for Minds Matter of Chicago. Michael's responsibilities include student recruiting, curriculum development and managing relationships with college summer programs. Prior to joining Minds Matter, Michael was involved in tutoring roles for the last ten years. Michael is currently an MBA student at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
Sarah Riddile, Co-Director of Mentors
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Richmond, with a degree in Economics. She relocated to Chicago from the Washington DC area in early 2005 to take over the Recruiting Department for SCORE! Educational Centers a division of Kaplan and the Washington Post Company. Sarah got involved in Minds Matter in order to make a difference in an underserved community that could do so much with just a little help.
Rob Arditi, Co-Director of Fundraising
Rob, Board of Directors & Director of Fundraising, works for Lake Capital, a $1.3B private equity firm focused on investing and operationally improving companies in the service industry. Previously, he worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in investment banking and at Raymond James. Rob graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree and also earned a Masters of Science in Finance degree from UF as well.
P. Barton DeLacy, Treasurer, Director
Barton is Managing Director and National Practice Leader for Corporate Valuation Consulting at Cushman & Wakefield, New York based international real estate services firm. DeLacy comes to Chicago from Portland, OR, where he was active on community and non-profit boards. He continues to serve as Trustee on the Board of the Abbey Foundation of Mt. Angel, OR. Aside from holding the professional appraisal designation, MAI, he has been elected to the Counselors of Real Estate and earned a Masters in Urban Planning. Barton and his wife Mary Mike have four grown children.
Prakash Venkataraman, Director
Prakash is a first year MBA student at the Kellogg School of Management. Prakash began his career as a fixed income analyst at Merrill Lynch in New York. Subsequently, Prakash joined Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), a non-profit organization committed to two major programs: the Scholars Program, which provides mentoring and after-school programs to high school students, providing a platform for college entrance; and the Career Program, which recruits, selects and trains outstanding college students of color for summer internships that lead to full-time jobs with investment banks, corporate law firms and other leading global companies. At SEO Prakash was a Senior Program Manager responsible for managing both the Sales and Trading program in New York, and the Investment Banking program in Hong Kong. Prakash is a graduate of Rice University, and is the Co-Chair for the Rice Annual Fund for the class of 2002.
Rhonda Bell, Director
Rhonda has 12 years experience in urban education. She manages the Summer Quest program for Chicago Public Schools. Summer Quest provides pre-college counseling and need-based financial support to low income high school students. Prior to joining Chicago Public Schools, Rhonda managed the SOAL program at Providence-St. Mel School. Rhonda has a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin.
Randy Wagner, Director
Randy Wagner joined the board of Minds Matter to make a contribution at the end of 2008. Her focus is optimizing our communication, leveraging her marketing experience as former Chief Marketing Officer for Orbitz Worldwide, EVP at Leo Burnett, and Corporate VP of Strategic Global Branding for McDonald's, where she was part of the leadership team that galvanized the brand's turnaround. Prior to moving to Chicago, she contributed to building brands for a wide range of companies including Citibank, Chrysler, American Express, Exxon, Campbell Soup and Colgate-Palmolive.
