Boston - A Word from the President

Welcome to the Boston chapter of Minds Matter! We are entering our fifth year of mentoring in the Boston community and look forward to the beginning of another successful year. Spreading the Minds Matter mission to a new city has been a rewarding experience. Last year was a great success as each member of our class of seniors was accepted to a top four-year college or university. We are thrilled to assist our returning students as they begin the college application process. During the 2008-2009 academic year, Minds Matter of Boston will continue to grow the size of its program by reaching out to a larger group of schools in the Boston community. We look forward to the energy and strength that new faces will bring to our cohesive group of students and mentors.

The philanthropic culture, dedication to higher education and pool of talented professionals has made Boston an ideal city to grow the national outreach effort of Minds Matter. We would like to thank all of the professionals who have given their time and the local businesses who have donated supplies and meeting space. Further, we would like to recognize the administrations from the local Boston schools who have helped us identify great students. Finally, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the individuals and corporations that have donated to our scholarship funds. Without the efforts of the entire community, Minds Matter of Boston could not have achieved such tremendous success!

As we continue our community outreach, we remain dedicated to helping bright and motivated students achieve their dream of attaining higher education. We are motivated to work hard to help our students achieve their goals and we look forward to continuing to work with the Boston community to promote the future growth of Minds Matter!
